WHAT IS

YOUR THEATRE LOTTERY

The Your Theatre Partnership was launched in summer of 2020 to allow like minded theatres and theatre lovers all over the country the chance to support local theatres and associated good causes, whilst having a chance to win thousands of £s in prizes.

The NYCDA Weekly Draw takes place every Wednesday and for as little as £1 per week, this is a great way for fans of theatre to help the development of stars of the future and help the theatres survive and thrive. All the while you will have the chance to win £1000s of cash prizes

This website is a one stop shop relating to the partnership these theatres enjoy with the NYCDA Weekly Draw. You will find results, access to legals, contact details, information relating to good causes in the theatres and more in this site.

Most local amateur theatres are run entirely by volunteers and rely 100 percent on income from the sale of tickets and fundraising. Most of these theatres are available for outside lets, providing a much appreciated service to the communities they operate in.   These are provided at very reasonable rates giving an outlet for local dance and stage schools who do not have an auditorium.  This gives children an opportunity to perform in a “proper” theatre which they find very exciting as do their parents.   Another theatre raised funds to provide a community cinema. With your support these Theatres can continue to provide access to their buildings. Funds are also needed to improve the facilities provided such as essential repairs, refurbishment of the interiors or building extensions to provide new performance and rehearsal spaces. Recently one Theatre had to replace its roof at a cost of £320,000. Other theatres have fundraised to redecorate their foyer and bar areas or improve the auditorium seating. Another is fundraising to repair a derelict basement area. This is essential to maintain the foundations of the building. It will also provide a new rehearsal and performance space but with a projected cost of over £250,000 they need as much support as they can get as Arts Council grants are rarely given to these local amateur groups. As most of these theatres are established in older buildings which were not original built as theatres any repairs or alterations are very expensive and theatres are constantly looking for new ways to fundraise. Your Theatre Lottery is one means by which you can support these activities.

With dozens of prizes including a regular jackpot and amounts up for grabs ranging from £10 to £250, members can also win a variety of non-cash prizes such as theatre tickets, corporate hospitality and merchandise, as well as food, drink , leisure and cinema based entertainment at local partners.

We have teamed up with partners at the National Youth and Community Development Association to participate in the NYCDA Weekly Draw. Not only does this help us grow with access to extra resources, we will be able to generate more funds for grass roots community development programmes. Some theatres exhibit local artist and photography clubs; some are used during the day as meeting places for community groups and many are used as a music venue for local and touring bands. Some host regular Comedy nights.  The theatres provide a cultural hub in the communities they serve and in many areas they are the main source of cultural activity. Without access to such theatre venues to put on productions or provide artistic space many hundreds or even thousands of small amateur groups providing theatre, music, art, dance classes or WEA groups would not survive.

With the Covid-19 pandemic forcing the closure of theatres income has dried up. Now more than ever these theatres need your help to survive and be there when restrictions are lifted and they can once again provide the valuable support to the communities they serve.
